Techno Box –
My Bracelet to the World: An Invention
Scientific advancement created by a dreamer.
A sleek urban bracelet TV.
Portable and petite.
With a liquid crystal face.
Elizabeth P. Glixman
In this tiny box on my wrist the Boston Red Socks play ball.
Pretty evangelists with blonde hair and business suits
talk of waiting for God’s mercy and how the Lord will pay your rent
if you study the word.
Anchormen spew the oceans decay our culture’s collapse.
Things that are not good for digestion are in the box-
The surge in the unemployment rate-
Road rage -
Rape-
Kidnap-
War-
The benefits of yogurt is an exception-
The reporters are gleeful.
Out of the endless blow wholes of network TV
(Anchors I feel sprayed)
They are skunks snoops spraying us with
Weird dry cleaning.
In this tiny box on my wrist
are pictures of bodies flying.
Beheaded bodies bending in prayer.
Porno bodies banging other nameless porno bodies.
On the split TV screen with a magnifying glass
Wrinkles of flesh and limbs falling
I can see the technology is precise.
In the tiny box encased in steel silver on my wrist
the world is shrunken in the ritual of
We Must Know all this and it must be compact
quick and nano seconded
Portable
Sitting in my neon pink car neon
the TV screen vibrating
on the highway along side other
basic electrifying colored cars
I channel surf.
I am informed the terror is rising.
I have my duct tape and Bible.
Last night the TV anchor said we as a race
can float faster than the wind that pollinates.
We can fertilize faster than the honeybee.
We can buzz louder than asteroids in outer space.
I ride by a pastoral patch adjacent the highway
Watch the cows in the pasture
before they are hooked up to milking machines
milk produced.
Gallons a second. I wonder
Do the cows’ tits hurt
or is it udder delight to be
handled by boxless stainless steel lovers?
On my wrist I see the big-faced world
Clock ticking
Shift and change
I watch the
Waterproof and fire proof
Disposable bracelet.
It is like fake diamonds
that can be reproduced as easily
as a porcelain chicken laying
A replica of a golden egg.
And as worthless in the creation of peace
